I have a dream....

There is no failure if your only option is success. Do not allow failure to invade your thinking. My brother Zachary said one of the most profound things to me today and that is your mind is not your own.Your mind will lie to you and attempt to hold you back. It will restrict your thinking and inflict the same restrictive measures on your body. You have to learn to dictate to your own mind. Every day you can be of a different mind. Learn to shift your thoughts and perception to your greatest gain. Your mind is programmed to survive and therefore causes you to feel fear, pain, anger and hate. This survivalist reaction will only hold you back. When you come to the point where you are not only looking to survive any longer, you must rise above these restrictions. Learn to move past the pain and the fear. Use those feelings to push you further, not hold you back.

I am not dreaming anymore of what my future will hold for my health and my life. I am actively making it happen and I will do so without fear, and although there will be pain, I will feed off of that pain and use it to make me stronger. I will regain my health and be better than ever because failure is not an option, I will not allow it to be. I will not impose a limit on what I am capable of. If you do this, you have already failed. There is a short paragraph of a man talking about his time with Bruce Lee. He says that Bruce had him up to running 3 miles a day under 8 minutes a mile. One morning Bruce said "today we are going to go for five miles". The man said to Bruce I CAN'T do five miles! Bruce said "when we get to three we will shift gears and it's only two more to go". The man, with hesitation, agreed to go for it. After getting to the fourth mile the man begins to give out about three to four minutes into it. He says to Bruce "I am tired, my heart is pounding and if I run anymore I am going to have a heart attack and die". Bruce simply said "Then die". It made the man so mad that he finished the full five miles pushing through all the pain. When finished the man, upset, asked Bruce "why did you say that?" Bruce said "Because you might as well be dead. If you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it'll spread over into the rest of your life. It will spread over into your entire being".

This story spoke volumes to me. Every day we set limits on ourselves on what we can achieve, but why? What are we so afraid of?  Failing? So what, you won't fail if you keep pushing. Pain is only temporary and the harder you push and the more pain you endure the stronger you will come out on the other side.

This is not a game and this is not a test.  This is your life and you only get one. Don't waste your life in fear of the pain or in fear of failure. If you don't get up and just do it then you have already failed before you have even begun. If you stop because it hurts then you have failed yourself and you have no one to blame but yourself. I will take away from this challenge a renewed sense of myself and my limitless capabilities. I will not only be stronger physically, but mentally as well. Mind, body and soul you have to break it down to build it back up. When it hurts, that's not when you stop, that's when you push harder.  As my brother said to me,  when your mind is telling your body that the pain is too much, when the exhaustion is kicking in and you're just too tired to go on. Repeat to yourself "then die" As Bruce said it'd be better that you die giving it all you have with noting left to give than to live because you settled and conceded.

Live your life limitless. Unchained to restrictive thoughts. Your mind and body are capable of so much more than you realize. Do not allow yourself to settle, you can achieve much more than you realize. I am realizing this everyday of my life. I am taking away from this challenge not only a healthy lifestyle, but a new life.
